The truth is that with new marijuana laws and Boston’s booming medical and bio-tech markets, the new cannabis industry is inevitably on its way to Boston. Now is our chance to make sure that Dorchester, a community that has been disproportionately victimized by the unfair and misguided laws of the past, gets a big helping of the pie, allowing our community to heal and flourish.
Opening a medical/recreational cannabis dispensary in Fields Corner will ensure:
- Dorchester will lead the way and set the standards for Boston’s new cannabis industry
- Dorchester residents have priority access to dozens of good jobs, in cultivation, dispensing, management, and more, with clear opportunities for professional growth and career development (all accessible by MBTA)
- Residents of our community and those surrounding ours will have ready access to the medicinal cannabis they need to live happy, healthy, comfortable lives
- Senior citizens and thousands of other people with chronic ailments will have access to natural relief
- Fields Corner will experience an influx in security with new lights, cameras, and security personnel making the surrounding neighborhood and parks safer
- Dorchester’s local economy will flourish, bringing in consumer money from all over Boston and beyond that will translate into funding for the city
- Area college students (21+) have internship and other educational opportunities to learn more about the cannabis cultivation, product manufacturing, and dispensary services
